Subject: Local bars and clubs serve people under age patrons.

Scope: We will conduct research on people that go to bars and clubs that serve drinks to patrons less than 21 years of age. We will research the records of bars and clubs that have received fines from the liquor commissioner for serving under aged patrons.

Need: People need to know that their children may be served alcohol illegally if they enter a club. We will research possible cases of drunk driving accidents where under aged adults were involved.

Methods: We want to bring this story together by mentioning the laws for alcohol consumption. Afterwards we will move onto facts about how many under age people are arrested for drinking. Then we would move onto local fines that liquor commissioners have placed on bars and clubs in the past 2 years. We will then tie it all together with interviews with local police, clubs employees, and under aged people.

Sources: This story will be drawn together by fines from liquor commissioners and interviews from under aged people who enter clubs. We also will have interviews from club employee’s and if possible management. We would also like to interview parents of children who tend to go to clubs in a constant basis. We would also like to interview local law enforcement and the mayor.

Presentation: This will be a single investigative story that would lay down all the facts and information that we have. We would also like to have a comments section that would give locals a chance to respond.

Follow-up: A good follow up story would be what clubs, bars, and police are doing to crack down on under aged drinking. We will see if anything has been put into place so under aged drinking can be prevented.
